Welcome to the new home of the OOC chatter post, in our brand new community dedicated to all of your OOC shitposting needs! We're going to start off very rules and moderation lite and see how things go.

1) You can post and comment here with any journal you own, i.e. CDJs, character journals from any game, etc. You don't need to join the comm in order to comment, but you can if you want.

2) We will do our best to continue putting up new chatter posts here whenever the old ones get close to filling up.

3) If for whatever reason, you'd like to make a new post in campers, you can!

And also: Please put a subject line in your comments to help people sort through conversations!

Hey guys it's JJ your friend local GM/giant idiot. Does anyone want to do some tabletop gaming in August like we did with D&D last year? I'm thinking Powered by the Apocalypse games. Monsterhearts and Monster of the Week are the two I'm interested in running one-off games for, so if you'd be interested in either/both those things let me know here? 5~ ish players per session is ideal.

MotW at least is much less number crunchy than d&d and more about storytelling. I have no clue about monsterhearts though

Extremely, mechanically speaking. They're meant to be learned and played in an afternoon and everything you need to play your character is on one sheet of paper. The main mechanic of the game is basically describing what you want your character to do, which can be a little... not difficult but I guess scary? To do if you've never done it before. But if you want you could listen in on the first game and play in the second if you're feeling it!

Absolutely!! If a lot of people are interested I can probably run a third game to accommodate everyone. This will be much less planning-intensive than last year's thing.

I think I'm going to run Monsterhearts next Sunday and Monster of the Week the Sunday after that.

Monsterhearts: First dibs for spots go to Kas, Jenny, and Rin, who are unavailable the other day. I've decided I can handle up to 8 players in this game if need be.
Monster of the Week: First dibs goes to Lyss, who's unavailable the other day. I want to keep it to about 5 players for this one.

Meggie and Marin get next pick because they want to play together. After that it'll just be first come first serve. If you haven't replied yet and can't make either of these games, don't worry! If people have enough fun and it's not too much work I might set up some kind of recurring game.

Spectators will be allowed!

Once you've decided which game you want to play in, please look at the skins for Monsterhearts and playbooks for monster of the week. Once you've decided who you want to play, message me on Discord with your skin/playbook selection and a brief concept for your character and I'll help you through character creation from there. I'm at jj#5656. These are also going to be first come first serve because I don't want duplicates, but I'll try to keep an updated list of what's taken and who's playing when on the Discord Server.

Monsterhearts players, get me your stuff ASAP! We're playing in ONE WEEK!

After a lot of consideration, I think I'm going to go ahead and sit out. Since there's a lot of interest, limited spots, and I'm still being ~anxious~. ♥ But thank you for doing this, JJ! I'm sure they'll both be amazing!
