Zadie was both fascinated by and intimidated by her, so That Type of Attention from Chanel would've blown her little nerd mind. But like. Not in an unwelcome way at all. Could definitely see them as an opposites attract, academically overachieving power couple that ends up kicking people out of their study groups so they can become study dates. Because they're similarly aligned when it comes to ambition and achievement, they'd be good at supporting/encouraging each other and maybe bad at keeping each other from overdoing things/getting caught up in things. But at least they can crash and burn together! Chanel would probably have more influence over Zadie than vice versa, giving her a smidge more social confidence and maybe sparking more active interest in the macabre. She'll never be into death in the same way Chanel is, but I could see her taking more interest in the darker side of things and painting her next hermit crab shell like a SKULL in Chanel's honor.

Also, Zadie has an important question: how does Chanel feel about running off to be mermaids in the bottom of some (potentially spooky!) lake somewhere? Because that might be her long-term plan and Zadie thinks Chanel would be a stunning mermaid.
